I just completed reading "The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari" by Robin Sharma.  This book was first published in 1997 and has sold around 3 million copies world wide. I was looking for a new book to read after completing the 600 pages of Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson. A different genre actually but nonetheless, it was still a good book although I wouldn't rate it more than 4 stars from total 5.

Some good points to be shared from the books are:-

5 steps method in attaining goals:

1.     To form a clear mental image of the outcome.
a.     If it is about losing weight, envision yourself as someone lean every morning.
b.     Picturing the goal would ultimately open the gateway to the actualization of the desire
c.      (Have a clear vision of your outcome)

2.     Get some positive pressure on yourself
a.     Why people fail in their resolution is because it is easy to slip back into the old ways
b.     Pressure can lead you to great ends
c.      People generally achieve greatness when their backs are off the walls and they tap themselves into human potential that lies within them
                                               i.     One way is to use the public pledge method
                                              ii.     Associate pleasure with good habits and punishment with bad ones

3.     Never set a goal without a timeline
a.     Attach a precise timeline

4.     A goal which is not committed on a paper is a no goal
a.     Call it your dream book – fill with desires, dreams and objectives
b.     Get to know yourself and what you are all about- strengths, weakness, hopes and dreams
c.      The Chinese define as 3 mirrors:-
                                               i.     How you see yourself
                                              ii.     How others see you
                                            iii.     Reflect the truth
d.     Divide the dream book into several section
                                               i.     e.g. have sections for physical fitness, financial goals, personal goals, relationship goals and spiritual goals
e.     Fill up the dream books with pictures
                                               i.     If u want to lose weight, put a lean body pictures

5.     Magic rule of 21
a.     New habits can only be formed in 21 days
b.     A bad habit cannot be erased but it can be replaced
c.      Direct so much energy toward it that the old one slips away like unwelcome house guest

Ok. Let's try this and see the end result in 3 weeks time.

Normal human beings dream of having nice body, nice cars, good job that pays well, etc. Well, do we know we can get those dream things easily if we are born rich , good genes or smart. However, do u think everyone is lucky? Guess not. Do u know most people strive and work hard to active something in their life. Most people just stop when they don't see any results. Hell yeah. How to achieve success when they stop? HOW? So that's the difference between success person and average joe. Average person dreams. They have big dreams. Big desires. BUT in reality, they are just greedy. Greedy for success but stingy in effort. BIG DREAMS must come with BIG EFFORTS as well. Sometimes we forget one thing. The first step of success begins with the FIRST STEP. Yes! Get moving for the first step. People who starts can be considered as a medallist in life. They are better than the other person who wishes/ dreams but not able to take actions. One thing to remember. There are 3 types of medal, gold, silver and bronze. A winner will go through all the way till the end. Till they reach their goal. They are the goal getter. Nothing can stop them. None can defy them. ONLY they themselves can defeat them. NONE others. So for the one who starts with the first steps and stop along the way, they are not losers. They are just the group of people who are not winners. AT least they moved. They tried. Only thing they are not there with the package of a winner.

FIRST STEP. SECOND STEP. THIRD STEP and it continues till u reach the top.

WHATS the LIMIT? The SKY!

Secret recipe of success - you, dream, motivation, believe, support system and actions.

WHAT HAPPENS IF FAIL? Try again with a better action plan. Remember one thing. GREAT people are not created in a day. one action. They try and try till they forgot they have achieved what they wished for.

If you guys are reading this, do take note that you are at the first point of reaching the success.

NOW grab a paper, a pen and draw what you wish for. All the best!

How many of us strive to be a good muslims? We all are created and designed to have big dreams such as big cars, nice house, branded clothes, loads of cash etc. How many desired to wake up late at night for Tahajud? How many of us take 5-10 minutes to pray Duha? Or how many of us actually pray 5 times a day? Ask yourself.

I have big dreams. I'm a dreamer, always has been. But a dream without hardwork, is useless.

As a human being, I can lie for all the desires that I have. Sometimes, I envy those people who has such fantastic cars, great jobs, big house etc. Compared to me, I have none of those. Comparing me and the street beggars, I am far away better. Comparisons will lead to temptations and there is borderline between being grateful and being greedy.

Have we ever say Thanks to Almighty for whatever we have or we keep on saying we are great when we get what we want? Can we spare some time to pray 2 rakaats of prayer when we receive something great? We say thanks to our boss when we receive praises, promotions etc. Wouldn't God love the people who remembers Him for whatever things He has given?

Being good is not easy. It is a behavior. A well desired behavior. A few simple ways of being good is by emulating the akhlak of Rasulullah. Smile, charity, being good to parents, maintaining a good language and always think of others before yourself. Simple. Start being simple and realistic. InsyaAllah, God will help us to be a better muslims.

A year ago I made an attempt to quit smoking and managed to actually quit for 50 days. Well, I thought I had won the battle but no! I made a wrong move by smoking a ciggie when I was out for an office trip with my colleagues. I thought a stick wouldn't effect my cravings but I was wrong. I once again become a smoker from there on.

I was told by my mother in law to quit smoking when I was engaged with her daughter. She asked me to promise to quit and I said I'll try to quit 2 months after marriage and yet, I was still smoking and it furiates her badly. I asked myself should I continue making someone angry or should I quit. Ok, if i quit because of her, I will tend to smoke again isn't it? Then its not about her. I've always wanted to quit. Well, whatever it is, smoking is not good. It's NOT COOL either. So for whatever reason it may be, I just ought to quit!

Well, I told Mrs that I will smoke the last ciggie on my birthday which was on 15th April. So from 16th of April to 18th of April, I have managed to stop. 3 days it is. So now my target is to complete the whole week of not smoking. All the best Mr! That's how I keep telling myself.

"I am stronger than The Great Wall of China".

All the best to you guys who is trying to quit as well. Let's keep on supporting each other.

A few things that I learned from the past failure:-

1) keep the mind occupied with something else;
2) DO NOT TALK ABOUT CIGARETTE. the concept is simple. e.g. You break up with your partner and you keep on talking about your x. Doesn't that means you missing him/ her? Being ignorant is the key.;
3) Do not tell the whole world you are quitting. The more people knows you are quitting, the more they'll try to bring you down. Logic behind this is smokers will not support their friends to quit as they themselves are unable to quit;
4) Drink more plain water. Less coffee, less sugar. This will detox your body and flush out the bad chemicals inside your body;
5) Eat less as well. When we eat less, the less we want to smoke. (this is just me trying to diet as well);
6) Pray and pray. By increasing our spiritual, we will not be tempted to smoke. (again, this is just something that I'm trying to do at the moment).

Well, I'll keep on posting about the progress and let's see if I can beat the crave to smoke for real this time.

May God be with me this time. Amen.

I was having a short conversation with a friend of mine while futsalling earlier and he was sharing a few tips with me.

He said, his principle in life is simple. He is motivated by DUIT or money in english.

I was like, money? Well, I guess everyone or almost all human being is motivated by money. Anyways, the interesting part about the DUIT is it is actually Dua' (prayers), Usaha ( effort), Istiqamah (steadfastness) and Tawakkal (trust and reliance on God's will). So there it goes. It has a wonderful hidden meaning under the duit (money) principle. Kinda cool it seems. I believe it is practical and doable. I'll try and see if this principle can work for me.

CEO Series 4 – Seelan Singham, Managing Partner, McKinsey & Co Malaysia
Writing credits: Chen Chow Yeoh

Thanks to the Young Corporate Malaysians for organizing the 4th CEO Series of Talk. This 4th talk on 26th February at Rumah UKEC featured Mr. Seelan Singham, Managing Partner of Mckinsey & Company, Malaysia.
Seelan brought with him 15 years of exposure at Mckinsey & Co, besides 18 months at restructuring ANZ Bank in early 1990s, when it was saddled with $600 million of losses. Seelan went to MBA at University of Chicago and before that, he was in Investment Banking. Seelan talked about Leadership as the most crucial issue facing Malaysia and he mentioned that we currently lack about 4,000 leaders here in Malaysia.

Seelan shared on 5 Things that he thinks are crucial for someone to be a leader. He says that it is our obligation to ourselves, to our family and to our nation, to be a good leader.

The first quality is to have dreams that scare yourself.

He talked about big dreams. One of the guys he showed is Sir Edmund Hillary, the first guy to climb Mount Everest. And Sir Edmund Hillary was a 6 feet 5 inch guy. Very hard for him to climb. But he managed to do it with sheer determination. So, we should really have very scary dream. Dream that we are scared for ourselves to even think about it. Dreams that make us shiver.

Seelan talked that those who are old, are those who look behind and talk about history. However, those who are old biologically, but young mentally, are those who continue to look forward. His father is one of the example. He is still working very hard, looking forward, although he is already 81 years old. He talked about courage to fail. We really have to try our best. At our age, especially for those of us in our 20s, there is nothing much for us to fear. We have the least obligation now. So, we should just go all out to try things that we might not try it later. No harm try and fail. He talked about how we should go against the flow and try things that no one wants to try. He turned down a Mckinsey offer after his MBA, although that’s what he really wanted to do. During that time, the then CEO of ANZ Bank called him to do a turnaround for ANZ Bank when it is saddled with losses, and Seelan took it as a great challenge and learned through the experience.

He talked that it is very easy for us to achieve goals, if we know what is the goals. What is tough, is to determine the right goals. He shared about a 15-year-old American who listed down 127 goals, and many of those are really crazy goals. But as of now, he has achieved 110 of those goals.

This brought us to his second point Stretch Opportunities.
He wanted us to really pursue those opportunities that others are running away from. We should go for those kind of opportunities, as it is the best training ground for us. He talked about how in his 2nd year of Business School at University of Chicago, he really wanted to go for Mckinsey and they are using point bidding system to get interview. He put all his points for Mckinsey. Then, when he went for his 1st interview, he really flung it. The partner told him that he flung it very badly, but they are giving him chance, and it is their first time doing so, as he put all his hope on Mckinsey only.
Eventually he got it.

But he turned it down after a few months of thoughts, as he took out the opportunities to turn around ANZ bank. After 18 months, he joined back Mckinsey. He just contacted back the partner and asked for it, and he got in. Seelan thinks that it is not mere coincidence. Over hte past 15 years, he does not always just choose the safe path. Sometimes, he would take the toughest path and he has failed several times. In his annual performance review, he has gotten all 4 types of ratings. Distinctive, tracking plus, tracking and issue. In fact, he got “Issue” twice and those are potential time to get sacked, as Mckinsey practices Up or Out. He cited that those periods when he went through hell, the support that he got is tremendous and he learned from those failure. His quote is that “Fall that doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger”.

The third point is caring mentor or partner .

Mentor is somebody who thinks that you can accomplish more that what you think you can do, and the person would tries hard to motivate you. In Business School, he has always wanted to go into Investment Banking. However, his mentor told him that he is much more suitable to be consultant instead of joining Investment Banking. At that time, Seelan was very upset with his mentor, but his mentor really cared to advise him, although it might hurt his feeling. Seelan said that the best way is that for us to see our dream, and from there, assess who should be the best person to mentor us. We should really go out to pursue our mentor.

The fourth point is giving .
Seelan says that giving would make us keep things in perspective. Eventually, the world is a very small place, and everything would come around. If we give, we would get back the reward one day. And if we do bad deed, it would come around too. He talked about how his 8-year-old son wanted to donate all his ang pows away to others in need, although he himself won’t be doing exactly like what his son does.
The fifth point is Mental Resilience .

It is that when things are very tough, are we able to stand and not give up. Seelan talked about how he tried to influence his 4-year-old daughter, but she has very strong mental resilience. On advice of how to develop mental resilience, he said that one aspect is on intellectual curiosity. The urge to find out why things happen. The second aspect is on divine intervention, as 50% of things are beyond our control. If we think so, then whenever things go wrong, we can always say that 50% of it is beyond our control, but it is so too, if things go right, it could be just beyond our control and it turns out fine.

Seelan asked about how many does mental exercise vs physical exercise, and interestingly 50% does physical exercise vs 10% who does mental exercise. That shows that we lack mental exercise. Our mind is very powerful and we focus a lot. But we need to work on our subconscious mind. He showed us a video and asked us to count how many ball passes went through. All of us just keep on counting, and we didn’t even realize a furry guy who walked through it, and it was just so obvious. I miss it. In total, only 1 person found it.

He also said that we tend to go through failures very often, but we tend to lack to spend time to go through our successes.

He leaves us with 5 questions:
1. Are we exercising our mind enough?
2. What more can we give?
3. Have we identified the right mentor? Are we pursuing our mentor?
4. Are we putting up our hand when we see stretch opportunity?
5. Does our dream scares us?

I just completed reading a book, " The Soul of A Butterfly" from Muhammad Ali and Hana Yasmeen Ali. I was amazed and touched by Muhammad Ali. The words, ideology and thinking is great. It makes me wonder, if he embraced Islam and were proud to his new religion, what am I then? I was born a Muslim and still a Muslim. What have I done that shows that I am a Muslim?

"I believe in the religion of Islam. I believe in Allah and peace"- Muhammad Ali

How touching is that?As a Muslim, I am touched and vows to be a better Muslims. Being a true Muslim will not bring me backwards but I believe that God is with me to the better path of my life. I believe Islam will lead me to a place where I have not been. A place of greatness which I have been looking for.

I have been enjoying reading books lately and I guess I should start reading Holy Quran, Tafseer, The Autobiography of Muhammad and his followers. I vow not be a robot and being dictate by someone. I can listen but NOT to be dictate. Only God can dictate me.

The fear towards mankind should be wiped away. No matter how big, rich, intelligent someone is, only He is Great and that's why He is the Almighty.

Well, I am not a pious or a changed person. Don't change. Change will lead to catastrophe as what has been faced by me. Look for inspirations and motivations daily. There are many honestly.

God created people for reasons. Messi, Muhammad Ali and Lance Amstrong for example, they are great athletes who inspires millions of sport fans due to their unique character. Wealth, fame and glories does not bother them. They inspire with their discipline and character. All of em' believe in God. It shows that whoever believe in God and has a good heart, they will not crumble no matter what.

Our life is too short too complain and brag. Let's change the way we see at things and be thankful for once. No matter what religion we are, we are all praying to the same Al-Mighty. Let's smile and do good deeds starting from today.

Small changes, big differences.

Happy Friday all!

Over the weekend, I saw a colleague of mine selling "kebab" and "nasi lemak" in front of SJMC, Subang. I messaged him, told that I saw him. Asked him what was he doing in front of SJMC. He said he's there helping his girlfriend selling kebab. "Wanna make some extra income laa bro. Just don't tell anyone". That's what he said.

Well, in the car, me and Miss was just curious. Why? What's wrong if other people knows he is selling food by the road side? Is it something wrong?

Well, maybe it will be shameful to him if others know. Someone who cares so much about status will definitely be embarrassed if others find out that they are doing all this small scale business. I was just doing a simple calculation. Just say if u have small stall business and it can generate RM500 per day, it will fetch RM 15000 per month man! That's for one stall only. How about if you have several stalls?

Small stall business might lack all those classiness criteria. You might be exposed to the heat, bad weather and harassment from the district municipal. Whatever it is, it brings cash.

One thing that I learned, people nowadays think too much of status. Everyone wants to potray how rich they are with the car they drive, the house they stay and the clothes they wear. What's the point of having luxury in the eyes of other people but deep inside you are not what you are.

Humbleness is rare species nowadays.

Mission statement, vision statement and core values are actually the foundation of a company. From what I see in Malaysia, most companies have all those but it's not being communicated well to the employees. What's the point of having bombastic core values which at the end of the days, nobody understands it or even practice it.

Recently, I have read two books which are Delivering Happiness: A Path to Profits, Passion and Purpose and Losing My Virginity by Sir Richard Branson.

The first book mentioned is written by Tone Hseih, founder of Zappos which was eventually bought over by Amazam.com. The core values instilled by him is:

1. Deliver WOW Through Service
2. Embrace and Drive Change
3. Create Fun and A little Weirdness
4. Be adventurous, creative and open- minded
5. Persue Growth and Learning
6. Build Open and Honest Relationships With Communication
7. Build a Positive team and Family Spirit
8. Do more with less
9. Be Passionate and Determined
10. Be Humble

I was impressed with the core values. Why? Look at it. One by one. Don't you think it's more of a culture which can be imposed and practiced? I would love to have this kind of core values which is practical and make sense. For Tony, core values should be something for people to follow and happy about it. So far, I've not heard any core values that has the word "wow". A normal spoken language which is being used as a core value. Ain't that great? Tony focus his attention towards the employees first and customer as secondary. Without a strong base of employee, your company will never be big enough for global capitalization.

Another book which was written by the global entrepreneur, Sir Richard Branson also focus on his employee.

"Conventions dictates that a company should look after its shareholders first, its customers next and last of all worry about its employees. Virgin does the opposite. For us, our employees matter most. It just seems common sense to me that, if you start off with a happy, well motivated workforce, you are more likely to have happy customers. And in due course the resulting profits will make your shareholders happy. " (Page 410: Losing My Virginity).

Think about it. Both companies emphasis on their employees by having their own cultures. In an organzation, we can't copy others culture. We can learn but we can copy. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. You do the math for a year. Without having the great culture, employees will come to work for money instead of seeing it as part of the life where they really enjoy. Happy workers come and work with joy. They need little attention. They work like an auto-pilot. Unlike unhappy employees, they are forced to do the work. They forced themselves to come to work. I believe we have choices to make in life. Don't let the life controls you. Start taking action and control life.

Not all companies have great culture and values. What should we do if our company belongs in the sad case? Having a set of core values which is valueless since nobody even understand and practice it. Complaints doesn't lead to anywhere. Take ACTION. What? You can always starts discussing among your colleagues and find the right medium for you to highlight this. Your small action will actually be rewarded handsomely. Trust me. When we focus so much about outside world, we are actually preparing ourself for a bad time. There won't be any company in the world that make money all the time. There are times when they suffer. They can only wake up again if they have the right employees that can bring them up again. Apple is one classic example. They rised during the 70's and eventually were kind off quiet for a while. Then Steve Jobs just came in again and did his magic. Without him, there won't even be I-Pods, I-Phones, I-Pads and list goes on. God! Amazing.

Mission, Vission, core values - culture.

Think about it. Amazing companies distinguish themselves with other companies by having their own set of cultures. For them, happy people will lead to happy customer. Happy customer will bring more profits. At the end of the day, it's a win-win situation for all.

Cheers!

When I wake up and she's not next to me, I realized that it's time for me to think of something big.

I told her lets get married by this year and her feedback is very positive.

After dating so many girls, this is the woman that believes in me. Guess what, the most important thing in a relationship is believe. She, someone who is fun, cool, smart and nice, can i get the same from others? I doubt that.

Good opportunities don't come often. I believe this is it. Should I wait? Shouldn't i?

Getting married is an opportunity to share and spread the love. Build a life from scratch. Ain't that something to look forward? Is life complete when u have money, big house, posh cars? Other people will have different views. For me, life is complete when I have met my soulmate. Someone that can be my lover and someone that can be my friend.

People always say our relationship is kind of funny and seems like a 'love-hate-relationship'. I told her that the most important thing in a relationship is to be true to oneself. Don't pretend to be nice or extra clingy if she's not. I even allow her to curse and yell when necessary. Maybe that's me. I am simple but sophisticated. Guess she can handle me after going through all the hardship in less than a year.

What I can see is, something is going to happen soon.

Will keep on updating about the next step soon...

HOW MANY OF US HAVE THE Malaysian Football National jersey in our wardrobe? If we look at the statistics of Malaysian who watches or plays football, there are only a numbers who actually owns this jersey.

Last year, when Malaysia won the Asian Suzuki Cup, the sales of the jersey were outstanding until Nike had to re-produced them again to cater for the high rising demand. It's unexpected as most of us barely knows the name of the national players.

For me, I find it interesting to watch many young people wearing the national jersey these days. Thanks to Nike, the jersey actually looks pretty cool. Currently, the price of the jersey is only RM 199 which is RM 50 cheaper than the other jerseys in the Nike shops.

This move is to actually encourage more Malaysian to own this jersey. If our stadiums are filled with our own national jerseys, how nice can that be right? Fantastic!

As for today, I went to the Nike Shop in MidValley to get my own national jersey for the first time. I was relieved to know that there are still stocks for the jerseys. I am very much happy to finally own my own national jersey. Well, there are options where I can actually purchase the jersey at the price of RM 50 and below, sold in front of the stadiums. However, if I can buy Manchester Jersey at the price of RM 259, why can't I buy the original jersey? Think about it. It's not about the quality. Is about national pride.

From now onwards, I will ensure to follow the national football team as I believe this hopeful footballers needs some sort of support from their own fan. Without their own fan, it will be a sad journey for these players.

Negaraku, tanggungjawabku.

My country, my responsibility.

Apalah ertinya sukan tanpa peminat?

What is the meaning of sports without fans?

TODAY, 13th July 2011, Malaysian football team will be up against the so called- Barca of the Premier League. This is the 1st Game of the Asia Tour by the other giants such as Chelsea F.C and Liverpool F.C. This tour is very good for our football team as for the first time after 20 years, we are in the second round of the 2014 World Cup qualifying.

Looking at the current scenario, the numbers of Malaysian supporter has risen as compared to the previous years. Our revival started in 2009 when we won the the Laos Sea Games by beating Vietnam, 1-0. Consequently, we also won the Suzuki Cup in 2010 by beating our arch rivals, Indonesia. Honestly speaking, I haven't been watching or following the Malaysian league since 1994. When talking about football, I only watch games involving Manchester United, Barcelona, Argentina and so on. Isn't it irony for Malaysian to actually support other countries instead of their own countries?

Thanks to our glory in those two tournaments, it made me realized that footballers needs fan. Without a strong fan base, they won't have the same spirit like the other football team in the world. Football is a game played by 11 players against another 11 and can be witness by thousands of fans. Just imagine if the 100,000 capacity in Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil is packed by our supporters, I would strongly say that these players will play wholeheartedly.

We might lack a lot of technical aspects but with the high team spirit, impossible is nothing. We have showed in 70's and 80's that we are one of the respected team in Asia and even qualified for the 1980 Moscow Olympic though we actually opted to boycott the Game. History has shown that Malaysia can actually play.

With our current team being so called Harimau Malaya or well known as Malaya Tiger, I believe we can triumph once again.
1. BERJUANGLAH
Ole-Ole..
Ole-Ole-Ole-Ole
Berjuanglah
Pahlawanku…
Satukanlah Tekad Semangatmu
Kami Rela..Korban Nyawa
Demi Daulat Negara Tercinta (ulang balik dari mula sampai abis)
2. BANGKITLAH
Ayuh Bangkit Bersama
Demi Nusa Dan Bangsa
Kan Ku Julang Namamu Oh Tanah Airku
Malaysia Yang Satu
Kan Kujulang Namamu Oh Tanah Airku
Malaysia Yang Satu
MALAAAYSIAAAA!!!
Ooooooooooooooooo
Oooooooooooooooooo
Ooooooooooooooooooooo

This are just two songs taken from the UltraMalayas. Come on Malaysia. Put away all our hatred towards the government and let's have fun celebrate / support the revival of our Malaysian Football Team. Without us, there are no roar of Harimau Malaya that can be heard in the Nasional Stadium Bukit Jalil.

Ole! Ole! Ole! Berjuanglang wahai pemain- pemain Malaysia. Kamulah wakil B.E.R.S.IH kerana kamu menyatukan kaum-kaum di Malaysia untuk bersama- sama menyokong pasukan negara!

Fuhh....I paid $ 6k for my credit card today and I am officially free. Yeah! what a relief. From now onwards, it's all about using cash unless if I know I can pay back credit card without delaying it. Tomorrow onwards, cash will be the king. No money, no talk.

I had a phone call from HSBC on last week saying that they are offering me loan for my settlement. However, I told them that I don't need additional debts and I am paying off my debts using my bonus. So I am glad that I am finally debt free!! To hell with credit card. Oppss. I still haven't cancel it but I will keep it for business purposes this time. No more pleasure.

Lesson learn :
Rich people knows the value of the money and they will not spend unnecessarily. The poor and the average however, will spend as if they have the means to splurge. It's the credit card that has been the culprit all this while.

Today marked the day where my gf finally decided to open her tudung. She's been wearing tudung for almost 5 months plus which is actually a good thing. People thought that she's been wearing tudung because of me which I know it was from her. Opps. I was wrong. I was partly the one that influenced her to wear tudung. Ok. It was an agreement. I stop smoking and she wears tudung. However, my quitting program only lasted for 3 months (Jan - Mac). So she actually wins in this case.

Today in the office, there are a few who just look at her as if they saw a zombie. Hey, what is wrong here? She didn't wear bikini to office. She just open up her tudung. One colleague even ask her " are u ok with him? U guys broken up?" Come on. I paused when I heard this. Must it always be like this? She answered "nolah. I just felt I am not ready". That's the right thing.

One thing to ponder. Everyone seems to be judgmental instead of being supportive. Maybe that's the Malay mentality. This is one of the reason why our Muslim sisters are worried when they want to wear the tudung. They might want to try to wear it and my open up again if they feel it's not the time. Society shouldn't be too harsh but instead be supportive.

We men always assume that tudung is just a tudung. Though it's compulsory for the women to cover up, it's not really easy. Here comes the word 'hidayah'. We must always pray for the best and may God open up the heart for us to be able to wear the tudung.

I wish my girlfriend all the best as tudung or not, you are still you. Care less about what people think as our society is full of hypocrites. One day, by God's will, u will wear tudung again. Amin.

I just realised one big thing about me in 2011. Attitude. Attitude is a big thing in todays life as it can bring u up and bring u down at any time.

What is attitude that I am referring to? I have a dreams. multiple dreams. The sad part is I just let it be a dream instead of focusing it and try to make it a reality. I have been reading stuffs online about people who achieve something big in their life. Most of them are not born extraordinary of with silver spoon. They dream and have the desire to achieve something which other people have.
The reason why they can achieve something is because they have the attitude. A strong and positive attitude which lead them to where they are.

Someone like me, always wants to be spoon fed and will be angry/ emotional if things doesn't come as I command/ like. I complain and and just let the negative feelings/thoughts control my emotions. How is that helping me? God, thank you so much for letting me realize my mistake. It's not about others. It's just me who created obstacles in this life. Work, relationship, financial. 2011, is just a year where I realize my mistake which I never realize.

One old man once advise me " Be moderate in life. Surely you will achieve your dream." When I compare that statement and myself, I notice that I am just someone who is so extreme and excited about something without thinking long enough. I don't plan for success. I dream of success but never plan for it. One of the famous quote "Someone who don't plan, is planning to fail"

2011, is just a year where I will gather back my strength and plan for something better. No waiting and just do it. I have been slow in these few years and maybe God is finally giving me this opportunity to come back and be a champion which my beloved surroundings always said.

2012 is not about doomsday as the movie is, it's a bout me making a comeback. A historic comeback.

Welcome back. Cheers!

"Kalau hendak berubah, berubahlah bukan kerana manusia tetapi berubah kerana Allah.Kalau berubah kerana manusia, takut satu hari nanti, kita kalah.Kalau berubah kerana Allah, Insya Allah bleh menang."

Apa gunanya akal fikiran?

I wonder why do I fail in reaching my goals. What is wrong. To list down all the wrong things, I assume it will be a lot actually. Some how rather, I managed to notice one thing which is the highest culprit of all of the reasons.

DELAYS

Delays is the culprit of achieving our desired goals. Consequences of delays are:-

1. Will not be able to reach datelines;

2. No result; and

3. Waste of time and goals set up

Having goals is important in life but without any discipline, goals are just goals. People tend to focus more on planning, executing , organizing etc. when reaching for the goals. How long can someone really maintain the drive and persistence in us? I assume 10 - 20 % out of the total goal setter.

Comes New Year, we tend to see many people who will set goals (new years resolution). Every year there will be new goals. However, looking back at he goals, have we noticed that some of the goals are actually the same goals from previous goals? Most common goals will be :

1. Planning to quit smoking;

2. Get rid of debts (credit cards or any other debts);

3. Planning to settledown;

4. Planning to slim down ( this is so common and yet every year people will still put this in their goal setting) ;

5. and the list go non stop from here.

If we look at item number 4 especially, why does this goal being repeated every year? Something related to this goal:-

a. Gymming;

b.Diet;

c. Discipline;

d. Monitoring result

If we stick to all that, we shouldn't be worry about getting the result. However, have we ever wonder what happen if we delay the process? e.g. delay going to gym? delay of dieting? All this delay will lead to laziness in keeping fit and will eventually delay the process of slimming down.

I have been having this "delay problem attitude" since forever and since I have noticed about this problem, I will ensure there won't be anymore set backs to my goals. Am targeting 2011 to be the first year where I will eventually reach my goals by deleting the "love to delay attitude" in my life dictionary.
