Dear Friends,

There's never been a day that passes without that small thought inside my head.

"When will I start wearing the hijab again?"

I hope the time will come soon. And this time around, permanently.

Please pray for me :)

Much Love. XOXO.

This is Mr. on 'Not trusting other photographers to take photos during our engagement':
"Ey.. I amik gambar you lah masa tunang! Then can take all the nice angles and the nice moments. I don't have to be there during the event, right? So I'll be the photographer laaa! Then I can also see you.."
Huh????

Why bother paying so much for a depreciating asset like a car when you can use that extra money investing on an appreciating asset like an apartment? I notice many friends buying expensive cars as their first car, paying high monthly amounts to the bank. Yes, I can afford them too but why spend soooo much at your first car? RM900 - RM1000 per month for your first car? Like seriously?!?

Maybe it's that satisfying feeling of "all that hardwork in uni finally pays off" or that confidence you get when friends or colleagues judge you from the car you drive or for most men, its that sign of stability that they portray to society - to some extend, to woo girls. Maybe its stylo. Maybe their parents pay off most of their down payment, thus lower monthly payments? Maybe they earn much much more than I do! Heeee

I too, dream of driving luxury cars one day but I'd rather buy it when i can really afford it - including being able to save high amounts in the bank. I certainly do not want to be left with only RM300 in the bank every month at the start of my career. The start of my career is the start of my 'money-making' journey. Go to hell with 'gaya' ;p

I prefer to appear normal rather than stylish but instead, owing such high amounts to the bank. Hutang hutang hutang. Pffftttt.

My youngest sister will be taking her driving license as soon as she finishes her SPM papers. Thus the family's yellow bumblebee kelisa will be passed on to her-meaning that its high time for me to start thinking of buying my first car :)

3 months more to go!

Good habits are never easy to instill. You need that new environment or that new friend to be the catalyst in change. I've been trying like FOREVER to get rid of these three very bad habits of mine:

1. Procrastination
2. Punctuality
3. Misplacing things

I've succeeded a few times in changing but failed miserably in maintaining them. It will last for a month maybe and then when i break the habit, even once, i'm back to my old self again.

They say you're supposed to practice them for at least 3 months or until it has become apart of u that if you don't do it, you feel uneasy. When will i ever reach that stage?

Everyday, we improve a little bit of ourselves. Everyday, we become a better person. Self-reflection.

Throughout the Ramadan month, I've been reading this book - as recommended by a member of Small Changes. It is called The Meaning of Al-Quran; the Guidance for Mankind. It is not a literal translation of the Quran - where the sentences can be quite hard to understand. The book is written to make it easier for young Muslims and new Muslim converts to understand the content of the Quran.

According to the book, no such translation can be as beautiful as the arabic form of the Al-Quran itself thus if you really want to embrace it, go and learn the arabic language :)

Anyways, here today, I'd like to share a couple of versus in the Quran on Ramadhan.

On the obligation of fasting:
O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you so that you may learn self-restraint. Fast the prescribed number of days; except if any of you is ill or on a journey, then fast a similar number of days later. For those who can not endure it for medical reasons, there is a ransom; the feeding of one poor person for each missed day. Whoever does more good than this voluntarily, it is better for him. However, if you truly understand the rationale of fasting, it is better for you to fast.  Al-Baqarah :[183-184]

On Husband-wife relationship is permitted during nights of Fasting month & Timings of Fasting:
It is made lawful for you to approach your wives during the night of the fast; they are an apparel for you and you for them. Allah knows that you were committing dishonesty to your souls. So He has relented towards you and pardoned you. Now, you may approach your wives and seek what Allah has written for you. Eat and drink until the white thread of dawn appears to you distinct from the black thread of the night, then complete your fast till nightfall. Do not approach your wives during I'htikaf (retreat in the mosques in last 10 days of Ramadhan). These are limits set by Allah; do not ever violate them. Thus Allah makes His revelations clear to mankind so that they may guard themselves against evil.  Al-Baqarah [187]

I will keep on sharing interesting versus as I come along them. You may also buy this book at your nearest MPH bookstores.

Salam 17Ramadhan!

I've always liked the idea of my future husband wearing a wedding ring. I believe that it avoids fitnah.

However, didn't like to force the idea into Mr's head, making him think like I don't trust him. So yesterday I asked him, "Do you want a ring too?"

"Hmmm... I don't know lah. What do you think?"

"Up to you lah," (which I should have said what I preferred)

"Actually, I nak lah. Elok sikit, nampak lah dah kahwin,"  Yayyyyyyy.

And then we started talking about Muslim men not allowed to wear certain type of jewelry and what wondered what type of ring do Muslim men wear. We didn't have a clue!

So I got some help from my bestfriend, Google, and confirmed that Muslim men CANNOT wear gold jewelry, which includes white gold. But there are also opinions saying that it's ok if its not 100% gold? White Gold for instance, is not 100% gold. (?!?!?)

To be safe, the options are left to two: Platinum or Silver.

Platinum is long-lasting, easier to care and of course expensive. Platinum is ideal for everyday wear. Silver on the other hand gets tarnish easily and needs to be polished and taken care well. BUT, it is also sunnah nabi.

I'm thinking that it should be a plain simple ring (wedding band) with engraving in the inside.

But at the moment, cannot decide on which to get: Platinum or Silver.

Maybe when we look at the price, then only we'll know? Hihihi.

Not to worry, still have a lot more time to think ;)

It has only been the first week of Ramadhan, yet there are already two racial news that have been popularly talked among us Malaysians to test our patience.

First of all, was the 8tv ramadhan advertisement:

And then, it was the JAIS Church Raid controversy,

There's just a lot of other news reported in the papers everyday, but we CHOOSE to talk and discuss on these racial issues. Both these news were not even prime news, but yet, we cannot runaway from highlighting them in our everyday discussions.

With the 1Malaysia concept, everyone expects race equality and rights, that even small petty racial/religion controversy can be very very sensitive. All it needs is just the media to report it. And then 'Bang!', everyone starts talking about it, creating more hatred among the public. Racial issues are being exploited!

We find faults in all these racial news. Suddenly, we cannot talk about our differences anymore? Suddenly we cannot talk about respecting each other's religion anymore? Why so sensitive? Are you telling me that one day, there won't be anymore Hari Raya or Chinese New Year celebration but just 1Malaysia celebration?

Due to our differences in religion practices, lifestyle & customs, we cannot deny that we are all, a little bit racist. Even in the States or everywhere else in the world, they may not show it, but they too are a little bit racist, just a little bit, racist. It's natural. We are all human beings.

Sometimes, I believe that we should all acknowledge our differences, and try understanding and tolerating each other - then respect will come too. ACCEPT, TOLERATE and RESPECT.

The way we handle these news so far is just very very disappointing. Even more racial remarks are thrown to each other, publicly now, thanks to Facebook and Twitter. Honestly, this isn't the way towards a united Malaysia.

Bring me Harimau Malaya pls!

Too too many FB friend requests.

Those that I don't know - fair enough, reject them.

But what about those that I've only met once or twice? Some friends of my siblings (sibuk jer!) Some friends of friends.  Aiyaa how lah? I don't want you to know too much from FB.

Think I'm going to create a filter for all these acquaintances - limited profile. All of them!

Pffffftttttttt!
