31st December 2017. That's like a whole 8 months of MIA. Yet, I have so, so, so many thoughts running in my mind now.

My daughter will be turning 5 in 2018. And its finally, serious time. I've been giving myself and my child some time to just have fun, and now that she's turning 5 , its time to get a little serious in developing her. We signed her up for Music classes this year, and she never had to practice, but this coming year, she has to start. More structured timing - for iqra', for music practices. She needs to solat 5 times a day, start memorizing some more surahs. It's time to press that button.

I tried vlogging in 2017, and just like this blog, I only had 2 videos uploaded. LOL. This coming year, I want to write more. I've always enjoyed writing, and I should be a little more discipline this time around.

2018. Will be the year that our family will be debt-free. We have decided to sell our house, and use the money to pay all our debts. Alhamdulillah, we have an interested buyer who has already submitted for loan approval, insyaAllah if that goes well, our debt snowball will start rolling! (Google: Debt Snowball Method)

You know what else I want to try? I want to go back to swimming, a sport that I've also loved doing. I want to do that weekly if possible, or bi-weekly. But first, need to get that new muslimah swimsuit!

I've been cooking a lot at my parents place this year, so next year, we will be practicing cooking from our own house. It's time to get our routines right.

I don't really have a bullet list of things to improve, but I would like to change our family's lifestyle as a whole, even if its progressively.

Here's to 2018.

Ever since I can remember, I am known for my butter fingers! I'm soo clumsy I've lost count now how many cups and plates I've broken. I blame it on my super long fingers that I cannot seem to fully grip anything. When I hold a plate, it's always just my fingers holding them. So things just slip out of my hands, easily.

I'm so cool about things breaking too by the way. Like if I accidentally break a plate, I'll just go "Oh! Another one," - like I've fully accepted myself that way.

Mom always tells me, "When you were small, we made sure that we didn't order drinks when we eat, because everytime we do that, somehow you'll knock them over, spilling water everywhere,"

And you know what? I see this happening to my own kid now! I mean, her fingers are not THAT long. But she's always dropping things everywhere - 3 broken cups now by the way (yes, I'm keeping track). When we order drinks, she will somehow knock them over and yes, water everywhere on the floor and all, and here goes mommy saying 'Sorry' for the zillionth time to the waiters for having to clean up the mess she makes.

Mr. oh my Mr. can be the most impatient person in the world when he sees any food or drink spilling over. Anything else, but please, not cereals on the floor or ice cream on the car seat, or drinks on the table. Because I'm so immune to this, I always just shake my head in disappointment and go on and just clean the mess.

Now, my daughter even quickly says "Sorry ayah!" when she spills something over, that sometimes I laugh about it.

You see, I shake my head in disappointment because I see that clumsy ol me in my daughter. Its like I'm seeing a mirror. I have fully accepted myself as being clumsy and not get stressful about it. Am I supposed to just accept that my child is that way? Or try find a way to get her out of it? I mean, she's only four! Of course she can get out of it right? But how? I myself haven't found the way to it yet!

It's looks like now, I need to improve myself in order to shape my daughter. And I thought I can just accept my weaknesses and focus on my strength. Hello hello!

Suggestions?

THIRTY okay! Like finally hitting the 3 series. Mr. wrote me a long birthday wish via whatsapp at midnight, although he was just right next to me. Then he said "Sorry, I didn't get you Duck scarves but only itik salai this time around," (which he ate and finished it all btw)

My 3 years old daughter kept giving me the same present today - a piece of paper with her colour-colour. "Mommy, I have a surprise for you!" and then gives me the same thing again and again. And then before she slept tonight she said, "Mommy, happy birthday! Make sure you don't hilangkan my present ok!"

Told Mr. that all I need is actually just a few hours of spa session to relax and take my mind off the kids and business for a while - and yes, he managed to get a place for next week! As for today, I took sometime looking at myself at 30. This 'being-a-mom' is permanent definitely. Responsibilities are bigger. But I couldn't have it any other way.
